Privacy policy

What we collect

• Without an account:your favorites and recently played games are stored only in your browser's local storage — they never leave your device unless you later sign in and choose to keep them. We also set one anonymous cookie used to count game plays; it contains a random identifier that is stored on our servers only in irreversibly hashed form.
• With an account: your email address, an optional display name, and your favorites, ratings, and play history, so they can follow you across devices.
• Technical basics: standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent) kept for security and abuse prevention.

What we use it for

Running the site: signing you in, syncing your library, ranking popular games, and keeping play counts honest. We do not sell or share personal data with data brokers, and we do not use your email for marketing without explicit consent.

Advertising

If we show ads, our advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies subject to their own policies; we will list active partners here and request any legally required consent before such cookies are set.

Retention & deletion

Play events used for weekly rankings are deleted after 90 days. Account data is kept until you delete your account. To delete your account and everything attached to it, email hello@joycrate.example from the registered address.

Children

Our games are suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; accounts are not required to play.
